Privacy policy
This policy covers the QforQueue app for customers, the QforQueue Partner app for businesses, and this website (together, "QforQueue"). QforQueue is operated by Harshad Sonawane, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us"). Contact: support@qforqueue.com.
In short: we collect what's needed to put you in a queue and tell you when it's your turn. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect and why
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Phone number | To sign you in with a one-time code, and as your account ID. One number works in both apps. |
| Name | So a business knows who's at the counter, and to greet you in the app. |
| Email address (optional) | Only if you add it in Profile, so we can contact you about your account. |
| Location (only if you allow it) | Customers: to show businesses near you. It's sent with each search and not saved to your account. Business owners: when you tap "Use my current location", it's saved as your business's address on the map. |
| Queue activity | The queues you join, your token number, position and outcome (served, left, no-show), so the queue works and the business sees its daily footfall. |
| Priority bookings | The reason category and any note you add, shown to the business so it can check them. Other customers see only the category, never your note. If a business says a reason didn't check out, we record a strike to enforce the fair-use limits. |
| Ratings and reviews | Stars and any text you write after a visit. Shown on the business's page with your first name. |
| Business details (Partner app) | Business name, category, address, phone, opening hours, services, description, contact links and photo, which customers see. Verification documents you upload, which only our reviewers see. |
| Notification token | A device ID from Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging, so we can tell you when you're near the front or called. |
| Crash reports | Device model, OS version, app version and what went wrong, from Firebase Crashlytics, so we can fix bugs. They don't include your name or phone number. |
| Technical logs | Our servers log requests (time, app version, IP address) to keep the service secure and working. |
Payments: paid priority bookings currently run in a test mode with no money charged. When online payments start, card and UPI details will be handled by the payment provider; we'll never see or store your full card number. We'll update this policy before that happens.
Who we share it with
- The business you queue at sees your name, token, position, and for priority bookings the reason and note.
- Other customers see your first name on reviews you write, and nothing else about you.
- Service providers that run QforQueue for us and may only use the data for that: Google (Firebase sign-in, notifications and crash reports; Google Cloud hosting in Mumbai), MongoDB Atlas (our database), and Cloudflare (this website and our email).
- Authorities, only when Indian law requires it.
We don't sell or rent your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while you have an account. When you delete it, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except visit counts with your identity removed and any payment records Indian law requires us to keep. Crash reports are removed after 90 days. The details are on Delete your account.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your name and email in Profile at any time.
- Location and notifications are optional: turn them off in your phone's settings. You can still search by name and watch your position in the app.
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by email. See Delete your account.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or about anything in this policy, at support@qforqueue.com. These rights include those under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) between the apps and our servers. Only you can act on your account, only a business's owner can run its queue, and every request is checked on our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
QforQueue is meant for people aged 18 and over. Anyone younger should use it with a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the account. We don't knowingly collect data from children without that consent; if you think we have, write to us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply.
